At the Aug 30 90th Anniversary Celebration, PDG and District Rotary Foundation Committee Chair Paul Muczyinski (Rotary Club of Plains) talked about the founding of the Rotary Foundation in 1916 and the establishment of the Paul Harris Fellowships to honor those who have donated $1,000 or have had $1,000 donated in their name to the Rotary Foundation.

PDG Paul also announced that one of the Foundations chief programs, Polio eradication, has confirmed only 39 cases of wild type polio this year; 29 in Pakistan and 8 in Afghanistan. It is expected that next year or within the next several years that wild type polio cases may be eradicated world-wide. He emphasized that there is still much to do to ensure that polio does not re-occur in the world.

PDG Paul then asked Al Noble and Jeannie Brady to talk about the family members that they were honoring with Paul Harris Fellowships. Paul presented them with their certificates, pins and Paul Harris medallions.

Al Noble bestowed Paul Harris Fellowships on his son-in-law Chris Maruzzelli and his grandchildren Sisile and Angelo Maruzzelli.
