Cory Scranta spoke at the Aug 27 Rotary Luncheon on ”The Plight of the Spanish Mustang”.

At the turn of the century, there were over 2 million wild horses in 10 Western states, now there are only 25,000. Cory is fighting to stop the eradication of the wild horses by the Office of Land Management to provide grazing land for cattle and land for oil fracking.

Wild horses are abused, neglected, put in trailers and trucked to Mexico and Canada under terrible conditions. They are being stunned and slaughtered inhumanely. Some of slaughtered horses are being mislabeled as beef meat in a few cases.
