The Rotary Club of Tunkhannock has the pleasure of hosting 3 foreign exchange students for the 2015-2016 Rotary year. All three students have given presentation to the club on their countries.
 
Frank Yu is from Taiwan and explained the Taiwanese education system and described some cultural events in Taiwan. One of the events he showcased was the Lantern Festival, where the participants placed a wish on the lantern as they were released.  He mentioned that the main source of transportation was scooters rather than private cars.  Frank gave each of the Rotarians a package of tea from Taiwan.
 
Louis Metens from Belgium spoke about the political situation in his country.  There are three official languages in Belgium: Flemish, French and German.  Louis mentioned that some of the things that Belgium is noted for are: chocolate, comics, waffles and beer.
 
Julia Alonso talked about her home country of Brazil.  Portuguese is the official language and the country is made up of many immigrants.  Julia is from Sao Paulo, which is over twice the size of New York City.  Carnival is one of the main attractions in Brazil.
