COMMITTEE REPORTS:

2019 Harvest and Wine Festival Committee:

Ron has obtained more info on a bandshell. City of Carbondale has a bandshell for $150/day, but you have to pick it up yourself, which would not be an issue for our club. Library and Blue Grass also need a bandshell. Jeff Kintner (Kintner Homes)  is looking to help sponsor a moveable bandshell at Lazybrook Park. It would reside at the park and they could rent it out for events.

Glenn Holcombe is working on all the rack cards etc. for the Festival.

See email from Ron Furman regarding this year’s meetings / schedule.  Next Meeting will be Monday evening – April 1st at 6pm at the Tunkhannock Library.

Fellowship Committee – Ann Way / Francine Kanyok

Starting to work plans for a Spring / Early Summer Rotary Day Trip – Details to come in the coming weeks.  If anyone has any ideas on where to go / what to do please get with the Committee as soon as possible.

Membership / Recruitment / Retention Committees – Ron Furman / Mary Tempest

One potential member, but need more info.

Foundation Committee

Sam is sending out letters to all members with a Foundation package filled out to make it easier for members to make their Foundation donations.
Terri asked about what "share" is and why specify your contribution is for share?  Carol commented that any money designated as share will have a percentage come back to the District for District grants in 3 years since that money is invested for the time frame. It was felt that a presentation on how the money is used  at RF would be helpful for new and long-time members.  Frank had a problem setting up an account and password on the Rotary International website.

Drug Takeback Project Committee – Frank Oliver / Carol Ziomek

Next Drug Take Back – April 27th, 2019. Glenn will have materials next week for distribution based on people signed up.

Facebook pages are being taken care of for Festival and Club by Chelsea, Gina and Sam with some input as needed from Carol and Nom Kelly.

Comments from Floor:

Harry discovered in trying to raise money for Fireworks, that the gas companies and even Walmart require grant applications, so he suggested we get someone who has a knowledge of grant writing to make the applications.  He may be getting money from BKV for fireworks and maybe Festival.  Need a committee to work on these sponsorship applications.
