Tunkhannock Tiger Fund for Excellence

The Tiger Fund for Excellence was formed to support and enhance the education and developmental experience within the Tunkhannock Area School District (TASD). Bob helped with the formulation of the Fund over the last 2 years.  It is open to all students in the District.

The Fund raises private monies to bridge the gap between the school district’s budget resources and the needs of the students. Extracurricular, co-curricular and STEM-related activities are all the areas the fund is designed to support.

The Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains (formed in 1998) manages the funds of the TASD Foundation (formed in 2006). The TASD Foundation along with the TASD Foundation Advisory Council (12 persons) manage the Tiger Fund for Excellence (formed in 2017). The TASD Foundation gives out 16+ individual scholarships and dedicated funds.

The Tiger Fund provides donors with the ability to earmark money for a specific purpose or leave money in general to the Fund so that moneys can be used in the best interests of the kids guided by the Advisory Council.  Council members serve a 3 year term.

The Tiger Fund raises money thru banner sponsorships, which cost $500 for the first year and $300 for renewal. They can sell a bunch more for other sports fields.  EITC tax credits, Talents & Treasurers of Tunkhannock Gala, Wills & Estates, Corporate Donations, Private Donations help attract donors.

Rod and Bob asked for member’s help by purchasing a sponsorship banner or by becoming an event sponsor for the Gala on Oct 27 at Stonehedge Country Club. You can also help by purchasing tickets and attending the Gala and by spreading the word about the Tiger Fund for Excellence.  They are currently looking for the donation of items made in Wyo Cty for the Gala auction. Gala moneys will go into the Fund.  You can earmark your sponsorship for the Gala for a specific purpose.
