Anne Sehne thanked the club members for the donations for the auction at the Essex Exchange Student Conference. They raised almost $300 on the auction.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Fellowship Committee - Ann Way / Tom Kukuchka
From the Board Meeting: We had a great Holiday Party this past Saturday. Thank you to Jim Welch and his band for the great music. Is there any feedback from the membership in regard to this party and future ones? Should we include the Kiwanis Club as well? The group consensus was “Yes”. Please provide any additional feedback for future events to the Committee.
Kiwanis has challenged us to down river canoe race in June, so remember to practice you canoe skills when the weather permits.
Spring Membership Mixer
Per discussion at the Board Meeting, we will be looking to do another Membership Mixer in the Spring. (Similar to what we did in the fall). Are there any recommendations on changes to this mixer that we should incorporate into the upcoming one?
2019 Harvest and Wine Festival Committee: Ron Furman
From the Board Meeting: If you are on the Festival Committee, please see the e-mail from Ron Furman regarding startup of this year’s meetings / schedule. The first meeting will be Monday evening, Feb 4th, at 6 pm at the Tunkhannock Library. We really need someone to lead the sponsorships subgroup. If you are interested in this subgroup or joining the Festival Committee, please talk with Ron Furman.
Rotary Foundation Committee – Albert Noble / Samantha Maruzzelli
Samantha put out the brochures for making your donations.
From the Board Meeting, Al is looking for all contributions to be made prior to the end of March as the District Conference is in early April. So far, only 22 out of about 70 Rotarians have made contributions this year. We are at $174 per capita. His goal is $350 per capita. 10 Members have committed to $1,000 per year. We are currently #2 in District behind New Foundland. Karen Fuller may be helping Samantha out as Co-Chair next year for Foundation.
Projects Committee – Chair Sandy Lane
The money is being distributed as per budget.
District Finance Committee – Karen Fuller
Meeting next month for District Finance Committee, lots of turnover on this committee and they have now moved to QuickBooks for District Finances.
Membership / Recruitment / Retention Committees – Ron Furman / Mary Tempest
Mary will update the new member info board and give new members a survey to fill out with their interests.
From the Board Meeting: The Board has accepted the applications of 2 new members at our board meeting this past Tuesday. Peter Sehne – (Proposer – Anne Sehne, wife) also David Kuffa – (Proposer – Marta-Kovacs-Ruiz). Per our club bylaws, the club general membership had 7 days from the date of email notification to provide any written objections, with reasons of objection to the Club Secretary (Carol) (by January 23rd).
Jeannie Brady is working on getting two new members, who were previously in other Rotary clubs.
Drug Takeback Project Committee – Frank Oliver / Carol Ziomek
The next National Drug Take Back Day will be Sat April 27, 2019 from 10 AM to 2 PM.
Global Projects Committee – Norm Kelly
The Global Projects Committee is meeting after this meeting. The District is still holding the funds for this project, but there are issues that need to be resolved to move forward.
Roadside Cleanup Project Committee – John Proctor / Norm Werkheiser

Rotary Relays Project Committee – Chair Rod Azar
Pres Mike has spoken with Rod and the 2019 Tunkhannock Rotary Relays Invitational will be held Wednesday May 1, 2019 at 4:30pm at the Tunkhannock High School Football Field
Senior Issues / Projects Committee – Chair Patti Ehrenzeller
From the Board Meeting: Nothing new to Report. Patti reported that the Senior Center was very grateful for our donation check.
High School Scholarships Project Committee – Chair Terri Detrick
From the Board Meeting: This application process will begin at the end of March / April – The School will be scanning in the applications and sending them to Terri for her Committee to review.
School District Student Contests Project Committee – Chair Terry Furman
Anne Sehne will follow up with District on the contest details and deadlines for submissions.
Additional Board Meeting Notes:
We are looking to do a Spring Service Project – It was brought up at the board meeting to get with Tunkhannock Township and do a Playground Revitalization Project at Lazybrook to spruce up the playground (mulch / cleanup / etc). We would do the labor and thus give back to Lazybrook and the Township.
Does anyone have any input or other project(s) they would like to see planned?

The Board approved accepting another Foreign Exchange Student for the 2019 Calendar year, (contingent on appropriate host family setup is in place for all). We would have 3 male exchange students from Jan to June 2019, 1 student from June to August 2019, 2 students from August thru Dec 2019 and 1 student from Jan to June 2020. The 3rd Student would be Enrique from Peru, who is 17 years old.
Next month’s Board Meeting will be Tuesday – February 19, 2019 at the Community Bank in Tunkhannock in their Main Conference Room.
District News:
Exchange Students – Anne Sehne
There will be 7 students going out from our District 6410. One student was assigned to go to Peru, but the situation is not so good in Peru, so they may rethink going or be reassigned another country. Anne noted that the club/Districts in Essex are obligated to bring in 160 students, but only have 80 going out.
There will be an exchange student get-together with the southern district at the Pearl S. Buck Museum in Bucks County.
Other District News
The Pre-PETS Training / Grant Seminars will be attended by Samantha Maruzzelli, Norm Kelly and Mary Tempest.
2019 PETS Training will be attended by Norm Kelly and Samantha Maruzzelli (who will be the 2019-2020 District Membership Chair).
Sue Kelly has declined the presidency for 2020-2021 and we need to find a replacement. If you are interested in becoming President of our club, please talk with Pres. Mike Markovitz or offer some recommendations.

FROM THE FLOOR DISCUSSION
Interact Club - Dave Wilson & Marta Kovacs-Ruiz
The Interact Club are collecting gently used shoes for boys and girls for the Tiger Care Closet by the end of the month. Other groups are also involved. Anything they do not use will go to Interfaith or other organizations that help people. So please bring any gently used shoes you would like to donate to the Jan 24 meeting.
CEO Food Pantry
Lou Divis reported that if food stamps are stopped during the government shutdown, CEO would like gift cards for Weis market to help stock their shelves in the food pantry. Lou has the details on how this should be done.
Our next Meeting will be Thursday, Jan 10. Our guest speaker will be Sophie Burke who will talk about her short-term exchange experience in Italy.

New Member Introduction
Chelsea works for ServPro as marketing manager & sales. She grew up in Dallas and got her BS in corporate communications from Penn State WB 2016. She joined ServPro in 2016.
She purchased a home in the Back Mountain and will be getting married in Sept. She has a golden retriever named Sophie.
Chelsea then briefly introduced ServPro. They handle clean up from water damage, fire damage, mold remediation etc. ServPro performed the clean-up at Weis market after the shooting.
They give great customer service and have empathy with their clients through their emergency. They operate 24/7, 365 days.
Chelsea does emergency ready profiles for business owners. She takes pics of the facilities' shutoffs and makes a chart with this info to use in an emergency. The info can be accessed from a phone app. It takes 30-60 min for her to do the profile.
