At the May 17 Club Assembly, senior Rotarian Norm Werkheiser shared his memories of his World War II activities that earned him a bronze star. Norm appeared in his WWII shirt that still fits after all these years with his medals on his chest.
Although Norm earned the bronze star during the war, he only received the actual medal recently. Norm made light of the activities that earned him this medal. He told of how he saved his unit by going down the wrong road, which actually turned out to be the right road to reach the heavy artillery unit to help out his unit that was under attack.
