Mike Donahue, Wyoming County Human Resources Executive Director, was the guest speaker at the Sept 30 Rotary Luncheon at Shadowbrook Inn & Resort.  Mike is also heading up the group called the Hope Coalition, which was formed in 2017. The coalition brings together elected officials, law enforcement, medical providers, and other organizations with the goal of helping combat the opioid epidemic in Wyoming County.

Rotary is a member of the Coalition as it provides the community outreach/PR for the District Attorney’s Office semi-annual Drug Take Back Events, the next of which is coming up on Saturday, Oct 23.

Mike talked about the main goals for the Hope Coalition. He also discussed the development of a program to help with the re-integration of individuals into the community and job market who have recovered from their drug or alcohol issues.  The importance of this endeavor was underscored  by Wyoming County Commissioner Ernie King, who also commented on this goal.
