President Terri Detrick brought the meeting to order at 12:15 PM online via Zoom.  Norm Werkheiser led the Pledge of Allegiance, Dave Wilson gave the invocation and Robin Rome led the recitation of the 4-Way Test.

Happy Bucks:  Gina announced the WC Chamber of Commerce purchased and moved to their new location on Mile Road (Cloverknoll).
 
Several members gave happy bucks for Fran Turners 102 Birthday today.
 
Sad Buck:  Laura Charles announced that Jon Buxton is leaving and going to Shavertown.

Guest Introduction – Gina Suydam
 
Gina introduced her guest Gary Ridlin, who is writing his 10th book “Saving Main St”.  He is a writer, reporter and journalist.  He is interviewing business owners here (including Greenwoods, Hallmark and Lech’s Pharmacy) and restaurants, hair salons and variety store owners.  His book will have a small business focus.
 
COVID Clinic – Pres. Terri
 
Pres. Terri thanked everyone who has so far volunteered to help with the weekly COVID-19 vaccination clinics.  If you are interested in helping, please sign up online at our Club Facebook page.
 
 
Wall that Heals (May 13-16)– Louis Marcho
They need volunteers to help with this event, so a sign up sheet was circulated. and Louis reminded everyone that they can also call 570-836-3321 or e-mail TWTHTUNKHANNOCK@gmail.com with their availability.

Harvest & Wine Festival – Ron Furman/Mike Markovitz
 
There will be a Harvest & Wine Festival Committee Zoom Meeting on Monday, May 3 at 6 PM.  The link will be sent out in an e-mail.
 
Exchange Students – Anne Sehne
 
They will be offering virtual exchanges for this year, similar to being a pen pal.  There is a $125 free but no expense to the Club.
 
RI and District News: 
 
Apr 24-30 was World Immunization week, which includes COVID Clinics.
Our next Meeting will be Thursday, May 6.  Our guest speaker will be Jan Henning, who will discuss “Addressing Grief & Stress Through Art”.

Ahmad is the Director of Membership and Community Engagement for the Greater Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce. He is also President-Elect of the Wilkes-Barre Rotary.
 
#570 Day is meant to spread positivity in the #570 area code and highlight businesses on social media.  #570 Day is May 7, 2021. 
It is the opportunity to advertise what services or products that you offer.  It is also the opportunity to mention what you love about this area.

The ultimate goal is to make May 7 of every year a celebration of the area’s natural beauty and offerings.
