Pastry chef Sisile Maruzzelli was the guest speaker at the Dec 7 Tunkhannock Rotary Luncheon at Purkey's Pink Apple.

Sisile was a past recipient of a Tunkhannock Rotary Scholarship that she used to help fund her study at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) to become a pastry chef. Sisile showed her pastry skills by preparing several desserts for today’s meeting, which were delicious and consumed with gusto by all attendees.

Sisile has spent the last 2 summers (mid-May through late Oct) at Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor Maine. She worked as a pastry chef at the Jordan Pond House Restaurant at the Park as well as making dessert snacks for the various shops. She showed photos and described some of the highlights of Acadia National Park including Jordan Pond, Cadillac Mountain and Thunder Hole.
