Our guest speaker for the Sept. 3 Rotary Luncheon was Officer Corey Sidorek. Corey works for the Sheriff’s Office, Tunkhannock Township and is the new officer in charge for Laceyville Borough. He’s been an officer for 5 yr. and is also finishing his BA at Misericordia University in governmental law.

He spoke about the current rash of police officers killed on duty and how they are being targeted by gangs and cults.  4 officers died in line of duty in PA this year.

Corey also related that the biggest problems in Wyoming County are drug and drug-related crimes. Every citizen can help by being vigilant and reporting any suspicious activity to the police.
