Jason Linden, our 2015-2015 Exchange Student to Mexico just got back July 21 after spending 11 plus months in Mexico. He was in Guadalajara, which is Mexico’s second biggest city in the central western part. There are almost 6 million people living in the Guadalajara metropolitan area, so it was a big shock for him living in a city with that many people. English is spoken, but many do not speak it well.

His goal for his exchange time was to learn and master the language. He lived with 3 different host families and got to do a lot of traveling and sightseeing in Mexico.

Jason also worked 1 day per week with the blind children in Guadalajara to help them to read and do math. To do this, he had to learn Spanish and braille in Spanish.
